John O'Gaunt is a school committed to, and motivated by, the principles of community-based lifelong learning.  We endeavour to empower all our students to achieve their fullest academic and personal potential and examination results in recent years would bear this out.  Whilst under the coalition government, specialist college status is no longer specifically recognised, we still adhere to the principles of a Technology College to ensure that all of our students understand and appreciate that they live in an ever-changing technological world.

We provide our students, primary partners and wider community with an education environment that supports and challenges their learning and we are constantly striving to be at the forefront of technological innovation.  This is used to enhance teaching and learning in ALL subjects, thus raising attainment and equipping students today with the skills and knowledge required for lifelong learning and employment tomorrow.
